A new start in the Langhe

In March 2024, Cascina Penna-Currado will begin its operations, in a historic farmstead in the Langhe situated on the spectacular crest of a hill in the commune of Serralunga d’Alba: a country house whose first brick bears its original date - 1554 – and which today, after meticulous renovation of the ancient building, is getting ready to enjoy a new life.
This location’s roots intermingle with those of a family who, in this area of aristocratic Piedmont, have written important and unforgettable pages of winemaking history. Elena and Luca Currado Vietti, together with their children Giulia and Michele, will guide this new small, artisanal estate.
<< This project, working together as a family and totally involving our two children, fills me with joy. I realise that I am thinking above all as their mother, but it is also a way to move the clock forward towards other horizons, with new energy and new ideas, >> states Elena Penna.
Cascina Penna Currado, drawing on the experience gained by its owners and their dynamic vision of the world of wine – beginning with climate change, which imposes different courses of action from an agricultural and strategic point of view – has given itself the goal of creating << wines that contain the essence of the Langhe>>, which succeed in conveying instinctiveness, energy and territorial identity.
In conclusion, Luca Currado Vietti says: << we only know how to do things one way: simply and with humility. That means trying to do our best, with credibility, every day. That is the only way we know to arrive at our objectives. Lastly, I would like to stress that we are now only taking the very first steps of this new adventure. Complex and ambitious projects always undergo evolutions during their progress, and that will be the case for us, too >>.
This, then, is just the beginning.

The original work of art, drawn by Giuseppe Stampone, which represents our new image, takes its inspiration from the brief statement you will find on the back label:
<< a new journey begins with gazing beyond the horizon, in search of roads that have yet to be traced, where we can leave a sign of our passing through >>.
